Fishing Boats Moored At Fisherman's Wharf in Victoria, BC

There’s a “hidden jewel” just around the corner from Victoria’s world famous, and busy, Inner Harbour. It’s easily accessible by foot, being only about 10-15 minute walk from the Inner Harbour or, easier yet, a 5 minute ride aboard one of Victoria’s famous Harbour Ferries.

The place I’m referring to is Fisherman’s Wharf and, although it’s not as big, or as well know as its San Francisco counterpart, it’s nevertheless a charming spot to visit. Harbour Ferries leave about every 15 minutes from the wharf in front of the Empress Hotel and can drop you right at Fisherman’s Wharf, or at any number of other points around Victoria’s waterfront.

Fisherman’s Wharf is filled with all kinds of marine related activities. You can purchase your “catch of the day” directly from a fisherman, sip a cappuccino or latte, stroll among unique and creative float homes, enjoy a tasty ice cream cone, dine on delicious fish and chips or simply sit and watch the sea planes take off and touchdown in the harbour.

It’s a fun-filled place for the entire family, and it’s only a few minutes away from Victoria’s main, downtown area. Fisherman’s Wharf is a place you don’t want to miss when you visit Victoria.
