Hello December

The Christmas Holiday Season is upon us and we love it!

At this time of the year Victoria has an "old fashioned" Dickensian Christmas feeling to it, with carollers on the downtown streets, pantos in the theatres and little shops that are all lit-up and shining for the holidays.

Although Greater Victoria has a population of over half-a-million residents, the actual City of Victoria has a population of just 70,000 residents, so it has managed to retain a "small town" feeling and has avoided the plague of the "big box stores".

As a result, Christmas shoppers will find a plethora of unique shops and services in the downtown area, which they would be hard-pressed to find elsewhere. Tea rooms, cafes, pubs and fine dining establishments abound in the city centre making it the perfect place to shop and then stop, for a late morning latte, afternoon tea, or an early evening glass of wine.

And, although we seldom get snow, we have had Christmases past when the white stuff has settled softly (and deeply) upon the city streets and sidewalks, adding to the spirit of the season.

If you've not been to Victoria at this time of the year, we hope you'll do so at some time in the future we're sure you'll appreciate "la difference" and, in case we don't get a chance to say it before the BIG day " A Merry Christmas To All....And To All A Good Night"
