Victoria Tea Festival February 12 and 13

posted on Jan 07

The vision of afternoon tea at the Empress Hotel is something that most every visitor to Victoria has in mind when coming here.  However, the "tea scene" in Victoria is far greater than this historically significant ritual. Apart from a number of other Tea Rooms, retail tea outlets and the general "sipping of afternoon tea" in Victoria, there is an annual event that will explore the subject of tea and provide you with an opportunity to find out more about this fascinating beverage.

Celebrating it's 5th Anniversary in 2011, the Victoria Tea Festival is the largest public tea exhibition in North America! Consumers and businesses alike can indulge in an educational and interactive tea experience exploring the traditions and trends of tea, while supporting a worthy cause - Camosun College Child Care Services. The weekend event features tea tastings, delectable tea-food selections, complimentary presentations on a variety of topics, opportunities to purchase hundreds of teas, tea-related products, and exquisite tea wares. An extensive Silent Auction will also be offered.

For more information you can visit Victoria Tea Festival Web Site  As for me, I'm ready for my afternoon cuppa and, perhaps, a chocolate digestive biscuit.
